High Profile Show, Bury Farm 21st-23rd Aug

It’s hard to sum up the last week! It’s been a very busy and successful number of days competing here in Bury Farm in the UK.

Competition started on Tuesday at the High Profile show. After a good warm up, and full of confidence we went into the ring for the PSG. Unfortunately Let’s Go struggled with the big indoor atmosphere and got very tense before he started his test. I worked very hard to settle him down and make him feel safe and as the test went on his trust and confidence came back, to my delight. With four more days of competing in the same arena ahead, I was so proud of how much he settled and knew this meant he would be better able to cope the next day.
Wednesday was freestyle day. A brand new floor plan and finally his own music, I was so excited to see how he would respond to it. However when I raised my hand to start, no music…. my new music refused to play! Thankfully I had handed in my old CD as well (for every reason!) and so a bit confused and unsure of how it was going to work we rode off an improvised floor plan to our old music. One or two rider blips, when trying to fit movements to music that didn’t exist cost us a little over all, but absolutely stoked how well Let’s Go took everything on the fly. Shocked and totally thrilled to finish on the podium in the High Profile, we wound up 3rd in the Gold Section.
Thursday saw the final day of the High Profile show and another shot at the PSG. A much better test with no tension, just a little onward bound at times! Chuffed to bits to finish 7th in a very hotly contested Gold Section.
As Always a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me and supported me a long the way, from my parents and all my team at home, and my sponsors Alan Ward Saddles and Dressage By Design.
